1. What is Cell Phone Unlocking? 

Unlocking your cell phone with our special unlock code allows you to use your cell phone with different carrier sim cards. For example, you may use a cell phone from Rogers with a Fido, AT&T, T-mobile or 3G sim card.

2. What other benefits are there to unlocking my phone? 

Besides gaining the ability to use your phone with different carrier sim cards, you can also save roaming charges when traveling overseas. By purchasing a pay-as-you-go sim card at your overseas destination, you can avoid high roaming charges from your local cellular provider.

Also, unlocking your phone increases its resale value if you plan to sell your phone.

3. How do I unlock my phone from your website? 

First, you need to register as a new customer on our website. After registering, you can make a purchase for an unlock code according to the Make and Carrier the phone is locked to.  Upon checkout, you will be asked to fill all the necessary information about your phone.

Usually, we only need the IMEI number from your phone to generate a working unlock code for you. You can find this number by pressing *#06# on the keypad of your phone OR locate that number on the back of your phone (not on battery).

4. I have made my order on the website, now what? 

After you made your unlock code purchase at our website, we will begin processing your unlock code. Please take a look at the "Current Processing Times" link found at the home page.

We will send you the unlock code and unlocking instructions via Email according the current processing time of your phone.

After you received your email, just simply enter the unlock code into your cell phone according to the step-by-step instructions we sent you.

5. What if I have trouble entering the unlocking code into my phone?

6. Do I need any technical skills to unlock my phone?.

No, It is very easy to unlock your phone.  By following our simple step by step instructions, you can unlock your phone within 5-10 mins. It is safe and won't damage your phone at all.

7.Is it legal to unlock my phone? 

Yes, it is legal to unlock your phone.

8.If the unlock code doesn't work, will I get a refund? 

Yes, you will get a refund only if you show us a video proof of the code not working when you enter it in. However, our codes are usually 100% working. Please contact us if you have problems entering the code.

9.Do you also debrand cell phones? 

Yes, you must bring the phone to us to debrand the phone. Debranding allows you to use MP3's as ringtones and makes the phone software run faster without the carrier branding and logos.

10.What if I want to bring the phone over to your shop to unlock it? 

If you want to make an appointment to unlock your phone by us, feel free to contact us at 604 780 1883 or unlockcellular@shaw.ca. Note that it will be $5 in addition to the website price and we only accept payment in the form of cash.
